To be successful as a “Tech Practioner", you should have experience with:
Basic/ Essential Qualifications:
- Fundamental understanding of z/OS.
- Previous z/OS hardware installation, configuration, cabling & design experience.
- Good understanding of mainframe operating system tools: - TSO, JCL & Utilities, plus HMA, SANNAV and MVS commands etc.
- CPU, Channel, FICON configurations/installations.
- Connect & Switch - SAN Knowledge and configuration of Broadcom switches (port set up: Blocking/Un-Blocking, zoning etc).
- Previous IODF experience (HCD).
Desirable skillsets/ good to have:
- z/OS Technical Expertise.
- A good knowledge of MVS either from an operations or Support background.
- A valuable Level of experience in the following (but not inclusive):
- Previous Data Centre installations (environmental requests etc).
- HMA operation.
- HCD (IODF’s).
- SANNAV.
- PPRC-XD.
- FICON cabling infrastructures.
- Floorspace management.
- Change management tools (ServiceFirst).
- Cross vendor DASD & Tape configurations/installations.
- PPRC connectivity.
- CPU, Channel & FICON configurations/installations.
- Connect & Switch SAN Knowledge (Brodcom X6/X7 switches etc).
- Server Time Protocol (STP).
- CTC Configurations.
- Previous experience in hardware installations, decommissions and Service moves would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Teradata platforms would be desirable.
