Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of forged components.
- Verify product dimensions and specifications as per engineering drawings and control plans.
- Conduct visual inspection for surface defects, cracks, laps, folds, and other forging-related defects.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Dial Indicators, and Thread Gauges.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; requirements, and customer specifications.
- Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation and reports.
- Identify non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions as per quality procedures.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949,
and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Monitor process adherence and participate in internal audits when required.
- Assist in calibration control of measuring instruments.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI with relevant quality inspection experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in forging, machining, or manufacturing quality inspection.
- Knowledge of forging processes and quality standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.;
- Proficiency in using measuring and inspection instruments.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and quality documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in hot forging or closed-die forging industries.
- Knowledge of PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plans.
- Familiarity with hardness testing and basic metallurgical inspection.
- Exposure to customer audits and quality management systems.
