Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' nutritional status and dietary requirements.
- Prepare individualized therapeutic diet plans based on diagnosis, medical condition, age, and nutritional needs.
- Provide dietary counselling to patients and their family members.
- Plan diets for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, renal disorders, cardiac conditions, Gynec patients, gastrointestinal disorders, and post-operative recovery.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient nutrition.
- Monitor patients' dietary intake and response to prescribed diets.
- Make appropriate modifications to diet plans based on clinical progress and medical advice.
- Ensure nutritional requirements are considered for admitted, pre-operative, and post-operative patients.
- Coordinate with the kitchen/catering team to ensure prescribed diets are prepared and served correctly.
- Maintain patient diet charts, counselling records,
and other required documentation.
- Educate patients regarding healthy eating, lifestyle modification, and nutrition after discharge.
- Participate in clinical rounds and multidisciplinary discussions when required.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, hygiene standards, and food safety practices.
- Stay updated with current nutrition guidelines and evidence-based dietary practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics / Food & Nutrition from a recognized institution.
- Relevant certification/registration, if applicable.
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital/clinical setting preferred.
