SUPERVISOR’S JOB TITLE: Scientist, Group Leader or Section Manager
JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY:
Conduct basic and applied research around architectural coatings and additives.
Develop new products and refine existing products.
Formulate paint using current technologies.
Prepare, test, and compare experimental samples.
Substantiate, review, and justify conclusions reached by Research and Development department activity.
Awareness about new upcoming trends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Direct and lead activity exploring new chemical pathways to develop new technologies as per the company strategy. Knowledge of patents / search engine/ drafting of patents or scientific. Conduct competitive benchmarking product analyses and develop product development strategies. Select, test, and evaluate new raw materials to determine quality and cost effectiveness of materials. Substantiate, review, and justify conclusions reached by Research and Development department activity.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / TRAINING:




Educational attainment equivalent to PhD (Chemistry preferably Organic / Polymer). Academic Post Doc experience 0-1 year.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABIITIES RECOMMENDED FOR POSITION:
Sound knowledge of pigments used in coating. Interior/exterior architectural stains knowhow. Knowledge of LCA, carbon footprint reduction. General paints, synthesis, polymers knowledge. Awareness about small molecules, colloids, or soft matter as applicable to paint industry. Basic understanding of analytical instruments and data interpretation.
