As a Software Engineer, you’ll help build and operate platforms that power how Microsoft does business - growing your engineering craft while working on high-impact problems at global scale. You will design, build, and operate software that helps teams launch and manage products across Microsoft. Working closely with more experienced engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders, you will translate customer and business needs into reliable, secure, and maintainable engineering solutions.

Learn to use AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle in a disciplined way. Begin to take responsibility for the content of your AI-generated changes - reviewing all changes and asking more experienced teammates for help as needed.
- Design. Explore and test design options for a feature under the technical leadership of more experienced engineers, outlining strengths and weaknesses and producing code to test hypotheses. Contribute to design documents for simple user stories with oversight, help identify dependencies and downstream interactions, and build your understanding of performance, scalability, resiliency, cost, security, and compliance in systems architecture.
- Testing and quality. Collaborate to understand and execute a defined test strategy that ensures quality and prevents regressions. Build testable code under guidance, assist with security testing (including negative cases), and begin using AI tools for t
