Don’t miss this opportunity to join the team in Ward 7 in the Borders General Hospital We are an acute surgical ward with 31 beds, covering General Surgery, Gynaecology and Urology.
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse who would like to be part of a friendly and supportive team with an ethos of continuous improvement. The postholder must be a confident decision maker, be able to work without direct supervision and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and have responsibility for the assessment of needs and the delivery of high-quality person-centred care. You will also work with other health professionals within the team, patients and families to co-ordinate complex discharges.
The role requires you to have full UK NMC registration and be adaptable and able to work days and nights on the ward to meet the needs of a 24/7 service.

As from 1st April 2026 the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
