Responsibilities
- Create detailed engineering drawings for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects, covering both Air Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS), ranging from 11kV up to 400kV (with a particular emphasis on 132kV voltages and above)
- Preparation and development of EC&I; deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, loop drawings, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design and switchgear configurations using both 2D and 3D software packages;
- Develop drawings to support detailed engineering, such as Land Utilisation Plan, Elevations, Above and Below Grade Conduit layouts, Grounding layout & it’s connection details, Lighting and Lightning protection with respective details, Bill of Materials, CDM, MEWP layouts.
- Facilitate coordination of design activities across various departments, including Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission Line. Conduct design reviews, participate in virtual meetings, and collaborate closely with clients.
- Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
- Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
- Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline.
- Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
- Coordinate with team members and monitor project schedules, ensuring submissions meet high-quality standards.
- Maintain compliance to CDM Regulations and all other legal and regulatory requirements associated with the nature of substation and electrical system design.
- Collaborate with WSP UK office on design activities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Develop and enhance processes, tools, and potentially implement recent technologies into the design process.
- Periodic Quality check to be conducted for other engineers & designers.
