Role Overview
We are looking for a Junior CAD Jewellery Designer to join our design team and support the creation of accurate, manufacture-ready 3D jewellery models. This role is ideal for someone with foundational hands-on experience in Rhino/Matrix who is looking to grow their skills under the guidance of senior designers, working on a mix of custom pieces and catalog designs for a premium D2C jewellery brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D CAD models of jewellery (rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, etc.) using Rhino with the Matrix plugin, based on design briefs or reference sketches/images
- Convert customer requirements and sales team inputs into accurate CAD renders for approval
- Prepare designs with correct stone settings,
prong placements, and metal weight considerations under senior guidance
- Make design revisions and iterations based on feedback from seniors, sales, or clients
- Generate accurate renders and basic technical drawings for internal review and manufacturing
- Coordinate with the production/manufacturing team to ensure designs are print/cast-ready
- Maintain organized design files and version history for each project
- Stay updated on jewellery design trends and techniques relevant to the brand's catalog
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/certification in CAD Jewellery Design or equivalent hands-on training
- 6 months – 1 year of hands-on experience working with Rhino and Matrix for jewellery design
- Basic understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes (casting, stone setting, polishing)
- Good eye for design proportion, symmetry, and detailing
