We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Engineer with a deep technical focus on HPE Block Storage systems and Brocade SAN fabrics.
Key Responsibilities
1. HPE Storage Administration & Operations
- Provisioning & Lifecycle: Manage end-to-end allocation, volume creation, and host mappings across HPE 3PAR, Nimble, and Alletra (6000/9000) platforms.
- Optimization: Perform data space optimizations, thin-provisioning tuning, deduplication tracking, and automated space reclamations (UNMAP/zero-page).
- Upgrades & Patches: Independently schedule and execute non-disruptive array OS/firmware code upgrades across controllers.
- Decommissions: Safely wipe data, unzone, and completely tear down legacy enterprise storage arrays out of production.
2. Brocade SAN Fabric Management
- Zoning: Configure and maintain secure SAN zoning architectures (WWN, peer zoning, single-initiator/multi-target mappings) on Brocade SAN Switches.
- Switch Maintenance: Execute Brocade Fabric OS (FOS) firmware upgrades, hardware component replacements, and port provisioning.
- Fabric Resiliency: Automate daily switch configurations backups (configupload), run systemic health checks, and gather log collection for auditing.
3. Continuity, Capacity, & Incident Response
- Data Protection: Manage synchronous/asynchronous replications and high-availability architecture like HPE Peer Persistence.
- Power Outage Orchestration: Own the disaster recovery plan for facility electrical interruptions, managing graceful sequential shutdowns and safe system restarts.
- Performance Triage: Diagnose and resolve complex storage performance bottlenecks, unexpected high latency, host multi-pathing (MPIO) drops, or fabric disconnects.
- Vendor SLA Management: Serve as the technical point of contact for HPE and Brocade support tiers, collecting debugging logs and overseeing in office Field Engineers for hardware replacements.
