We are looking for a dynamic and well-read Librarian with experience in IB (International Baccalaureate) frameworks who can transform the library into a vibrant learning hub. The ideal candidate should go beyond book management and actively support inquiry-based learning, research skills, and student curiosity.
Key Responsibilities
Library Management
- Manage and organize physical and digital library resources
- Maintain cataloguing systems (preferably IB-aligned or international standards)
- Ensure regular updating of books, journals, and digital databases
- Oversee circulation, inventory, and procurement of resources
Academic Integration (IB Focus)
- Collaborate with teachers to support IB curriculum (PYP/MYP/DP)
- Help students with research, referencing, and extended essays
- Design and conduct sessions on:
- Research skills
- Information literacy
- Academic honesty & citation practices
- Support inquiry-based and interdisciplinary projects
Student Engagement
- Cultivate reading culture through clubs, events, and challenges
- Curate reading lists aligned with student interests and IB themes
- Guide students in selecting age-appropriate and skill-building resources
Digital & Future-Ready Learning
- Manage e-library platforms and digital tools
- Introduce students to AI-assisted research tools (where appropriate)
- Enable access to global knowledge platforms and databases
Collaboration & Culture
- Work closely with faculty to embed library resources into lesson plans
- Support school-wide literacy and thinking initiatives
- Participate in academic planning and innovation discussions
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s / Bachelor’s in Library Science (MLIS / BLIS)
- Experience in IB schools (PYP/MYP/DP) preferred
- Solid understanding of inquiry-based learning
