JOB DESCRIPTION – HOSTESS

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / F&B; Manager

Job Purpose

To provide a warm, welcoming, and professional first impression to all guests. The Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, handling reservations, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant guest experience from arrival to departure.

Key Responsibilities1. Guest Welcome & Reception
- Greet and welcome all guests with a warm and courteous attitude.
- Escort guests to their tables and assist with seating arrangements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow hotel grooming standards.
- Communicate confidently and politely with guests.

2. Reservation & Seating Management
- Manage restaurant reservations, walk-ins, and table allocations.
- Maintain updated reservation and seating charts.
- Coordinate with the restaurant team regarding table availability.
- Manage waiting lists during peak hours and provide accurate waiting-time information.




- Ensure proper rotation of tables to support productive restaurant operations.

3. Guest Service
- Understand guest preferences and special requests.
- Assist guests with menu information and restaurant facilities when required.
- Coordinate with Service, Kitchen, and F&B; teams to ensure smooth service.
- Handle basic guest queries and complaints professionally and escalate issues when required.
- Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction.

4. Communication & Coordination
- Maintain effective communication with the Restaurant Manager, Captain, Servers, and Kitchen team.
- Inform the service team about VIP guests, special occasions, dietary requirements, and other guest preferences.
- Coordinate table setup and special arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate guests, and VIPs.

5. Restaurant Operations
- Ensure the entrance, hostess desk, waiting area, and reception area remain clean and presentable.
