Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist India to manage end-to-end payroll processing, statutory compliance, employee payroll queries and payroll reporting for the India workforce. The person should have strong hands-on experience with Indian payroll, PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, gratuity, bonus and labour-law compliance.

The role requires high accuracy, confidentiality and the ability to independently manage monthly payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Payroll
- Manage monthly payroll processing for all India employees.
- Validate attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, deductions, reimbursements and current joiner/exits data.
- Process salary revisions, promotions, bonuses, arrears, full & final settlements and recoveries.
- Ensure accurate and timely salary disbursement.
- Conduct monthly payroll reconciliation with Finance and HR.

2. Statutory Compliance
- Manage payroll-related PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund and other applicable statutory compliances.




- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory returns and challans.
- Manage payroll TDS calculations and employee tax declarations/investment proofs.
- Handle quarterly salary TDS reporting and related employee documentation. From April 2026, payroll teams also need to be familiar with the transition to the Income Tax Act, 2025 and the updated payroll/TDS reporting framework.
- Support preparation and issuance of annual salary tax certificates such as Form 16, as applicable.

3. Payroll Accounting & MIS
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and payroll cost statements.
- Reconcile payroll with the general ledger and bank payment files.
- Prepare payroll MIS covering headcount, gross/net salary, statutory deductions and employer contributions.
- Support Finance with payroll provisions, accruals and month-end closing.

4. Employee Lifecycle
- Process payroll inputs for new joiners, transfers, salary revisions and promotions.
