Duties & Responsibilities :
- Collect blood, urine, and other specimens from patients.
- Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper handling and storage .
- Perform routine and specialized tests, including blood tests, urinalysis, and microbiological cultures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and analysers.
- Analyse test results and ensure accuracy.
- Record and report findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain and update patient records and laboratory logs.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure test reliability and accuracy.
- Participate in laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing programs.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide diagnostic support.
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff regarding specimen collection and testing procedures.
