Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, operate, and scale multi-region CockroachDB clusters in production environments
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and data consistency for globally distributed clusters
- Monitor cluster health, latency, replication status, and resource utilization using observability tools
- Perform capacity planning and proactive scaling for future growth
- Design and implement disaster recovery strategies including backup/restore and failover/fallback
Skills Required:
- 6-12 years of relevant experience as a DBA / database administrator
- CockroachDB administration for multi-region production clusters
- SQL proficiency for database operations and schema management
- Database clustering concepts for distributed systems (replication, range/lease behavior)
- Backup and restore, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery processes
Positive to Have:
- Automation and scripting for provisioning, scaling, and operational workflows
- Experience with on-call rotations and incident response for production databases
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
