Position: Assistant Manager – Ocean Operations

Job Purpose:

The Assistant Manager – Ocean Operations will be responsible for managing day-to-day Ocean Import and

Export shipments, ensuring timely documentation, shipment tracking, customs coordination, customer

updates, milestone management, and smooth coordination with overseas agents, shipping lines, co-loaders,

CHAs, transporters, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ocean Import & Export Operations:
- Handle Ocean Import – FCL, LCL and Sea Cross Trade shipments.
- Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, and co-loaders for bookings, shipment status, draft

documents, pre-alerts, and final documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping lines/co-loaders for IGM details, liner/co-loader invoices, and Delivery

Orders.
- Ensure timely IGM/manifest submission and completion of shipment-related activities.
- Track shipment milestones and ensure timely updates in Vizio as per KPI guidelines.





2. Customer & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Coordinate with customers for draft documents, pre-alerts, shipment status, and daily updates.
- Share daily shipment status and DSR with customers, Client Relations, and Sales teams.
- Maintain regular communication with customers and address operational queries.
- Escalate operational issues to the Operations Manager, Client Relations, and Sales team on time.

3. Customs & Delivery Coordination:
- Coordinate with CHAs and transporters to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery of

cargo/container to customers.
- Coordinate with co-loaders and other vendors to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Support cost reduction through effective coordination with CHAs, transporters, and vendors.
