RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Floor Quality Controller to ensure the quality, accuracy, safety, and timely completion of vehicle repair and service work at the dealership workshop.
The role will be responsible for vehicle inspection, job quality monitoring, repair verification, road testing, final quality checks, and ensuring that vehicles are delivered to customers only after meeting dealership and OEM quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vehicle Inspection & Quality Control
- Conduct detailed inspection of vehicles received for service and repair.
- Verify customer complaints and ensure proper diagnosis by technicians.
- Inspect vehicles before, during and after repair/service activities.
- Ensure all repair work is carried out as per OEM technical standards and dealership SOPs.
- Identify quality issues, repeat repairs and incomplete jobs.
· A. CC/1000 & TB of Quality of repair/Maintenance job performed
· B. CC/1000 & TB of total time taken for repair
2. Job Card & Repair Verification
- Review job cards and ensure all customer complaints are clearly documented.
- Verify that all jobs mentioned on the job card have been completed correctly.
- Check technician remarks, repair details and replaced parts.
- Ensure additional work is performed only after proper customer approval.
- Verify that no customer concern remains unresolved before vehicle delivery.
3. Final Quality Inspection
- Conduct comprehensive Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)/Final Quality Check, as applicable to the service process.
- Check:
- Engine performance
- Braking system
- Steering and suspension
- Electrical systems
- AC/HVAC performance
- Tyres and wheel alignment
- Exterior and interior condition
- Warning lights
- Fluid levels
- Noise and vibration
- Roadworthiness and safety
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and properly prepared for delivery.
4. Road Test & Functional Testing
- Conduct road tests after major repairs and whenever required.
- Verify vehicle performance and confirm that reported issues have been resolved.
- Identify abnormal noise, vibration, braking, steering or performance issues.
- Ensure vehicles requiring additional repair are returned to the concerned technician/team.
5. Workshop Floor Monitoring
- Monitor repair and service activities on the workshop floor.
- Ensure technicians follow prescribed repair procedures and safety standards.
- Monitor job progress and identify delays or bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors, Technicians, Workshop Manager and Parts team.
- Ensure jobs are completed within the committed delivery timeline.
6. Repeat Repair & Complaint Reduction
- Track repeat repairs, comeback cases and unresolved customer complaints.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for repeated technical issues.
- Coordinate with technicians and workshop management to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of repeat repairs and identify recurring quality problems.
- Drive continuous improvement in workshop quality.
7. OEM Standards & Technical Compliance
- Ensure adherence to OEM technical guidelines, service procedures and quality standards.
- Stay updated on technical bulletins, recalls, service campaigns and repair procedures.
- Ensure proper use of OEM diagnostic equipment and special tools.
- Coordinate with OEM technical support teams for complex technical issues.
- Support workshop audits and quality inspections.
8. Parts & Repair Quality Verification
- Verify that correct parts are used for vehicle repairs.
- Check replaced parts and ensure proper installation.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department regarding incorrect, defective or unavailable parts.
- Ensure no unauthorized or substandard parts are used.
- Monitor quality of workmanship and repair practices.
9. Customer Complaint Support
- Assist Service Advisors in resolving technical customer complaints.
- Conduct technical inspections for escalated complaints.
- Explain technical findings to Service Advisors and Workshop Management.
- Support effective resolution of difficult or repeat customer complaints.
- Ensure vehicles are delivered only after complete resolution of customer concerns.
10. Team Coordination & Training
- Coordinate with technicians, Service Advisors, Workshop Manager and Parts team.
- Identify technical skill gaps and recommend training requirements.
- Conduct quality awareness sessions for technicians and workshop staff.
- Promote a "Right First Time" repair culture.
- Guide technicians on quality-related issues and corrective actions.

Documentation & MIS Reporting
- Maintain records of:
- Quality inspection results
- Repeat repairs
- Comeback cases
- Customer complaints
- Technical issues
- Road-test results
- Warranty/quality concerns
- Corrective actions
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly quality reports.
- Track quality KPIs and submit reports to the Workshop/Service Manager.

- Strong knowledge of automobile mechanical and electrical systems

· Adhere to and guide technicians on repair processes to be followed.
· Check and ensure all parameters of QG1 (LDPW, pre-road test, time estimation).
· Check and ensure all parameters of QG2 (post-road test, 100% jobs completion)
· Ensure technician complete repairs within FRT
· Ensure Technicians Adhere to recommended repair processes (repair manual/Bay assist) to ensure First Time Right Repair
Educational Qualification
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- ITI/Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical may be considered based on relevant experience.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in automobile workshop/service operations.
- Experience as a Quality Controller, Workshop Technician, Technical Advisor, Service Technician, or similar role will be preferred.
- Experience with an authorized automobile dealership/OEM workshop will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of OEM diagnostic tools and dealership DMS/service systems will be preferred.
Local Candidate preferred.
