We are looking for a skilled and responsible Desktop Support Engineer to manage day-to-day IT support, computer systems, networking, servers, and computer labs at our educational institute. The candidate should have good hands-on knowledge of hardware, software, troubleshooting, networking, and basic server/Active Directory administration.
Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and maintain desktop computers, laptops, monitors, UPS, and other IT hardware. Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and software applications.
Perform hardware diagnosis, replacement, and preventive maintenance.
Install and configure printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
Provide basic support for LAN/network connectivity, switches, routers, IP addressing, Wi-Fi, and basic networking issues. Handle basic Server and Active Directory tasks such as user creation, password reset, account management, and system/domain joining.
Manage and troubleshoot computer labs, including PCs, networking, software, peripherals, and classroom/lab connectivity. Ensure all lab computers are properly configured and ready for students, faculty, and training sessions.
Troubleshoot issues related to internet, LAN, shared folders, printers, and network resources. Perform software installation, updates, configuration, and troubleshooting as required.
Maintain IT asset records and keep track of hardware/software inventory.
Coordinate with vendors for hardware repair, networking, and other technical requirements when necessary.
Provide technical support to staff, faculty, trainers, and students.
Maintain proper documentation of IT issues, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the institute's IT infrastructure.
