JOB DESCRIPTION

To create a safe, joyful, nurturing and stimulating learning workplace for children in the Foundation Stage by implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based and experiential learning practices. The teacher will support children's foundational literacy, numeracy, communication, social-emotional development, physical development, creativity and overall well-being in alignment with the CBSE/NCF Foundational Stage framework and the school's academic programme.

Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and implement age-appropriate learning experiences for children in Balvatika / Pre-Primary / Kindergarten / Foundation Stage.
- Use play-based, activity-based, inquiry-based and experiential learning approaches.
- Develop children's foundational skills in:
- Language and communication
- Early literacy
- Early numeracy
- Environmental awareness
- Physical development
- Creative expression
- Social and emotional development
- Use stories, rhymes, music, role play, games, art, craft, manipulatives and hands-on activities to make learning meaningful.




- Provide opportunities for children to explore, observe, question, communicate and solve age-appropriate problems.
- Integrate real-life experiences into classroom learning.
- Use appropriate teaching-learning materials and resources, including locally available materials and digital resources where appropriate.
- Ensure learning is child-centred rather than textbook-driven.

CBSE's expectations for teachers emphasize moving away from rote learning, experiential learning, integrated assessment, real-life connections and holistic development.
