Job Summary

The HOD – Librarian is responsible for the overall management, administration, and development of the college library. The role includes supervising library staff, managing academic resources, supporting teaching and research activities, and ensuring efficient library services for students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage all library operations and services.
- Supervise and guide library staff and assistants.
- Develop and maintain library collections including books, journals, e-resources, and digital databases.
- Ensure cataloguing, classification,



and proper maintenance of library materials.
- Prepare library budgets and coordinate procurement of books and subscriptions.
- Support faculty and students in academic research and information retrieval.
- Maintain library records, accession registers, and stock verification reports.
- Implement and manage library management software and digital library systems.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accreditation requirements.
- Conduct periodic library audits and stock verification.
- Promote reading and research activities through library programs and orientation sessions.

Qualification
- Master’s Degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc)
- Additional NET / PhD in Library Science preferred for senior academic institutions.

Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in library management, preferably in a college or university.
- Experience in supervising library staff and managing academic resources.
