Key Responsibilities
- Programming & Optimization: Develop 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC programs using CAM software (Delcam PowerMill, Mastercam, etc.) to improve cycle time and efficiency.
- Machine Setup & Operation: Perform set up of VMC machinery, including tool and fixture selection, to initiate production runs.
- Technical Drawing Analysis: Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine proper machining processes, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Quality Control & Inspection: Conduct in-process inspections using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers) to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Address technical issues, such as program errors, tool breakage, or machine malfunctions.
- Maintenance & Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, perform routine machine maintenance, and maintain a clean work workplace.
