Job Description Position: MIS & Cost Analyst (HO) – Ferro Alloys Department: Cost Control & MIS Location: Kolkata (Head Office) Reporting To: Head – Cost Control & MIS Position Overview The MIS & Cost Analyst will be responsible for consolidating, validating, and analyzing cost and operational data received from Ferro Alloys manufacturing units. The role will support management decision-making through accurate MIS reporting, dashboard management, budget monitoring, and variance analysis. The incumbent will ensure consistency of reporting formats, maintain cost databases, and provide timely insights on operational and financial performance. Educational Qualification CMA / CMA-Inter Additional certifications in Data Analytics, Power BI, or Advanced Excel will be an added advantage. Experience 3–5 years of experience in MIS, Cost Analysis, Reporting, or Business Analytics. Exposure to manufacturing, metals, steel, ferro alloys, mining, or process industries preferred. Experience in handling large datasets and management reporting. Technical Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, Lookup Functions, Data Validation, Dashboards) Working knowledge of Power BI Solid data reconciliation and consolidation skills Understanding of cost accounting concepts and budget monitoring ERP data extraction and reporting exposure preferred Key Responsibilities (KRAs) 1. Cost Data Consolidation & Reconciliation Collect plant-wise cost sheets and operational MIS from all Ferro Alloys units. Reconcile submitted data against approved reporting templates and source records. Identify discrepancies, coordinate with plant finance and operations teams, and ensure timely resolution. Maintain centralized databases for cost and operational reporting. 2. MIS Reporting & Dashboard Management Prepare and publish periodic MIS reports and management dashboards. Maintain and update Power BI reports and dashboard layers.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reports shared with management. Automate recurring reports wherever feasible. 3. Budget Monitoring & Variance Analysis Track budget versus actual performance across plants and cost centers. Monitor key cost drivers including raw materials, power, reductants, consumables, logistics, and conversion costs. Highlight deviations beyond approved thresholds. Support the Head – Cost Control & MIS with variance analysis and corrective action tracking. 4. Cost Database & Norm Library Management Maintain the repository of approved production norms and consumption standards. Update historical variance records and trend analysis databases. Support benchmarking exercises across plants and products. Maintain version control of reporting templates and standards. 5. Compliance & Data Governance Ensure adherence to standardized reporting formats across all units. Monitor template compliance and reporting discipline. Maintain audit trails and supporting documentation for reported data. Support management reviews by providing accurate and traceable information. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Consolidated MIS dashboard published accurately within defined timelines. Number of data discrepancies identified and resolved before month-end closing. Budget vs Actual variance reporting completed within agreed timelines. Template compliance rate across manufacturing units. Accuracy and completeness of Power BI dashboards and management reports. Timely maintenance of norm library and variance history records.
