Job Description – Technical Proposal & Estimation Engineer

Thermodyne – Boiler & Heating Equipment Division

Department: Sales / Business Development

Reporting To: Sales Manager

Experience: 2–5 years

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./Diploma – Mechanical Engineering preferred

Job Purpose

To provide technical and techno-commercial proposal support to the front-end sales team of 8–10

members by preparing accurate, competitive and timely quotations, detailed technical offers, RFQ

responses and tenders for Thermodyne's boilers and heating equipment.

The role will act as the technical-commercial bridge between Sales, Engineering, Procurement,

Vendors and Customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quotation & Proposal Preparation

 Prepare timely quotations for standard boilers, heating equipment and associated

products.

 Select suitable equipment and accessories based on customer requirements and application.

 Prepare detailed techno-commercial offers for customized/project requirements.

 Study customer RFQs, specifications, BOQs,



datasheets and drawings and prepare compliant

offers.

 Prepare technical specifications, scope of supply, datasheets, compliance statements,

deviations and exclusions.

 Prepare alternate/optional solutions wherever commercially or technically beneficial.

2. Tender & RFQ Handling

 Study tender documents and identify technical, commercial and contractual requirements.

 Prepare tender documentation, technical bids, compliance matrices and price schedules.

 Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement and suppliers to obtain required inputs

within deadlines.

 Ensure complete and error-free submission of tenders and proposals.

3. Estimation & Costing

 Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations for bought-out items for proposal stage.

 Ensure correct margins, freight, taxes, delivery and other commercial elements are

incorporated.

 Support Sales Manager during commercial negotiations with costing and technical inputs.
