Role Summary: Production Manager Safety & Environment Officer
Key Responsibilities:
Seasoned Safety & Environment professional with 10 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing plants. The role demands strong knowledge of safety best practices, environmental compliance requirements, and the ability to establish a world-class culture of safe working practices. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plants safety and environment standards are aligned with international benchmarks.
Shall be responsible for the following areas:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety and environment management systems across the plant.
- Ensure compliance with national and international safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental impact studies on a regular basis.
- Build and sustain a culture of safety by leading awareness campaigns, safety training,
and behavioral safety initiatives for all employees and contractors.
- Establish emergency response plans and lead periodic drills for preparedness.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and HR teams to integrate safety into daily plant activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental management requirements such as waste management, emission norms, energy conservation, and water usage.
- Prepare and present safety & environment performance reports to management, highlighting key risk areas and improvement actions.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to raise plant safety standards to global best practice levels (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS standards, etc.).
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors for inspections, approvals, and certifications.
Knowledge & Skills required
- 10 to 15 years experience in Safety & Environment roles within manufacturing plants.
- Solid understanding of Indian legal requirements
