Role & responsibilities

Network engineers bring foundational handson expertise. They resolve moderately complex issues and help stabilize incidents before escalating to L2/L3.
- Perform deeper L1 troubleshooting:

1. Interface utilization / errors analysis
2. Basic routing checks (static routes, OSPF neighbours status)
3. VPN tunnel state checks
4. Firewall rule verification (readonly)
- Own incident tickets until resolution or justified escalation.
- Work with ISPs to troubleshoot WAN link issues (CRC errors, flaps, latency).
- Assist in executing standard changes under guidance (e.g., port configuration, VLAN assignment).
- Support planned maintenance: device checks, pre/postvalidation.
- Mentor G4 engineers and review their ticket quality.
- Maintain network documentation and runbooks.

Preferred candidate profile
- 12 years of NOC/Network Operations experience.
- Valuable understanding of routing/switching, VLANs, WLAN basics, VPN concepts.
- Ability to interpret logs, interface counters, and monitoring metrics.
- CCNA or equivalent certification (highly preferred).
