We are looking for a skilled and responsible VMC Operator to operate Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines for precision machining of components as per drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor VMC machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set up jobs, tools, fixtures, and workpieces as per requirements.
- Load and unload components properly.
- Operate CNC/VMC programs and make basic program corrections when required.
- Set tool offsets, work offsets, and tool length compensation.
- Perform in-process inspection using instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Bore Gauge.
- Maintain required dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Identify machining defects and take corrective action.
- Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.
- Maintain proper machine housekeeping and follow 5S practices.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams to meet production targets.
- Maintain production and inspection records.
- Report machine problems, tool issues, and abnormalities to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of VMC machine operation and basic CNC machining.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection methods.
- Positive knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code ,Mistubushi will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience operating 3-axis/4-axis VMC machines.
- Experience in precision component machining.
- Knowledge of CNC/VMC machine setting and tool offset correction.
- Experience with Mitsubishi controls will be an advantage.
