Advise and assist the factory management in fulfilling its statutory and other obligations concerning the prevention of personal injuries and the maintenance of a secure working environment. This is achieved through the deployment of corporate and plant safety initiatives, ensuring legal compliance, recertification, and awards that help build a positive image of the company for its stakeholders — all within the framework of processes, policies, and guidelines laid down under various standards and procedures established by the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Drive compliance with plant safety processes, policies, and guidelines under applicable organizational and statutory standards
Conduct regular plant safety inspections, audits, and hazard/risk identification exercises
Investigate accidents and incidents, and drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs, including 5S and behavioral safety initiatives
Ensure statutory compliance under the Factories Act and other applicable EHS regulations
Maintain documentation and records required for safety certifications and audits (e.g., ISO 45001)
Liaise with government safety authorities and inspectors as required
Support recertification processes and contribute to safety awards and recognition programs
Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement across the plant
Qualifications
Degree in any branch of Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, OR
Degree in Industrial Safety recognized by the Government (RLI, CLI, or State Board of Technical Education)
