Nature Synthesis publishes original research on all aspects of chemical and materials synthesis, as well as Editorials, Reviews, News Views and Comment pieces on topics that are of interest to the broader community of researchers working in this area, both in academia and industry.

Nature Synthesis is seeking an editor with a background in synthetic chemistry, biochemistry or organic materials who has a critical eye, a deep understanding of their subject and interests beyond it, and the ability to quickly assess recent information and make sound judgements.
Responsibilities




- Handling original research papers and working closely with editorial teams on all aspects of the editorial process, including manuscript selection and overseeing peer review - Critical Scientific Evaluation, Manuscript Assessment, Decision Quality.
- Making well-reasoned editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts in the light of expert advice - Scientific Comprehension.
- Contributing to content and strategy in this area at *Nature Portfolio* and within the Nature Portfolio - Operational Excellence.
- Commissioning, editing content such as Reviews, and writing content such as editorials - Scientific Academic Writing.
- Liaise extensively with editors at other journals in Nature Portfolio and with experts in the international scientific community - Communicates Effectively.
- Attending conferences and visiting research institutions - Collaboration.
