About the Role
IndiaLaw LLP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate with 2–3 years of post-qualification experience to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution team in the Kolkata office. The role offers exposure to a broad range of commercial disputes, arbitration matters, insolvency proceedings, and banking litigation before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently handle litigation matters before the High Court, Commercial Courts, District Courts, and other judicial forums.
- Represent and assist clients in proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT), and other regulatory authorities.
- Draft and review pleadings, petitions, written statements, applications, affidavits, legal notices, written submissions, and opinions.
- Assist in domestic arbitration proceedings, including drafting statements of claim, statements of defence, applications, and procedural documents.
- Handle matters under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, including corporate insolvency resolution proceedings, liquidation, and related litigation.
- Advise and represent banks, financial institutions, NBFCs, and corporate clients in banking and recovery-related disputes.
- Conduct legal research, prepare case strategies, and support senior members of the team during hearings.
- Coordinate with clients, counsels, and court officials to ensure effective conduct of matters.
- Monitor case progress, maintain case records, and ensure timely compliance with procedural requirements.
Eligibility
- LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
- Enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
