Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, responsible, and hygienic Cook / Mess Cook to manage daily food preparation for students and staff at our coaching centre/hostel.

The candidate should be experienced in preparing food in large quantities and should be able to maintain good taste, quality, hygiene, and cleanliness on a daily basis.

- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and other meals as per the institute's menu.
- Cook food in large quantities while maintaining consistent taste and quality.
- Prepare nutritious and student-friendly meals.
- Maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Wash and maintain cooking utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Properly clean and organize the kitchen after every meal.
- Use vegetables, groceries, oil, spices, and other raw materials carefully and economically.
- Check the quality and freshness of raw materials before use.
- Avoid unnecessary wastage of food and kitchen materials.
- Maintain proper storage of vegetables, groceries, and other food items.
- Inform management about items required for upcoming meals.
- Follow instructions regarding oil, salt, spices, quantity, and menu.
- Maintain proper meal timings so that students receive food on time.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and discipline in the mess area.
- Immediately report any damaged equipment, gas leakage, water problem, pest problem, or other kitchen-related issue.




- Perform other reasonable kitchen-related duties assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements:

- Previous experience as a Cook / Mess Cook / Hostel Cook / School Cook / Restaurant Cook preferred.
- Experience in cooking for a large number of people will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Indian vegetarian food.
- Should be able to prepare simple, healthy, and tasty meals.
- Should understand food hygiene and cleanliness.
- Should be punctual, honest, disciplined, and responsible.
- Should be able to work independently and manage kitchen work efficiently.
- Should maintain respectful behaviour with students and staff.

Residential Requirement:

- This is a residential position.
- Accommodation will be provided by the institute.
- The selected candidate is expected to stay on the institute campus.
- Weekly off and leave will be provided as per institute policy.
- The cook should be available according to the institute's meal schedule and requirements.
