- Senior Site Engineer1. Site Execution & SupervisionExecute and supervise complete civil construction activities as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Handle Factory Buildings, Industrial Buildings, RCC Structures, Foundations, PEB-related civil works, Flooring, Roads, Drainage, Compound Walls and other civil works.
- Check daily work progress and ensure proper execution as per drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, PMC and client representatives.
- Identify site issues and resolve them in coordination with the project team.
- 2. Drawing & Technical Knowledge Thoroughly study and understand Civil, Structural, Architectural and Foundation Drawings.
- Ability to read and understand RCC drawings, foundation drawings, column/beam/slab details, excavation drawings and structural details.
- Study BBS (Bar Bending Schedule) and verify reinforcement quantity, diameter, spacing, cutting length and placement.
- Coordinate with the design/consultant team for drawing clarifications and revisions.
- Prepare and maintain drawing records and ensure only approved/revised drawings are used at site.
- 3. Quantity & MeasurementCalculate and verify quantities of:
- Excavation
- PCC/RCC
- Reinforcement Steel
- Shuttering
- Masonry/Brickwork
- Plaster
- Flooring
- Concrete Roads
- Drainage & Underground Works
- Structural/Foundation Works
- Check BOQ quantities vs actual site quantities.
- Prepare daily/weekly quantity reports and measurement sheets.
- Verify subcontractor quantities and measurements before submission for billing.
- 4. Labour & Manpower ManagementPlan and manage daily manpower according to project requirements.
- Allocate labour teams to different activities based on priority and target.
- Monitor productivity of masons, carpenters, bar benders, helpers and other workers.
- Ensure sufficient manpower is available to achieve daily and weekly targets.
- Take corrective action in case of low productivity or delay.
- 5. Project Planning & Deadline ManagementPrepare daily, weekly and monthly work plans.
- Follow the approved Bar Chart / Project Schedule and ensure activities are completed within the planned deadlines.
- Break project activities into daily and weekly targets.
- Monitor actual progress against planned progress.
- Identify delays in advance and prepare a recovery plan.
- Increase manpower, resources or working hours wherever required to recover project delays.
- Ensure critical activities are completed on priority.
- 6. Material Planning Prepare material requirements according to upcoming activities.
- Coordinate with purchase/store teams for timely availability of cement, steel, RMC, bricks, shuttering material and other construction materials.
- Check material consumption and avoid unnecessary wastage.
- Monitor stock requirements at site.
- 7. Quality Control Ensure construction work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Check reinforcement, shuttering, levels, dimensions, line and alignment before concrete.
- Coordinate for concrete pouring, cube testing and other required quality checks.
- Ensure proper curing and finishing of concrete and other civil works.
- Identify and rectify defective or non-conforming work.
- 8. Daily Reporting Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
- Maintain records of:
- Manpower
- Machinery
- Material
- Work Progress
- Concrete Quantity
- Steel Consumption
- Labour Productivity
- Site Issues
- Report daily progress and critical issues to Project Manager / Management.
- 9. Billing & Commercial Support Assist in preparation and checking of RA Bills, Measurement Sheets and Quantity Statements.
- Verify executed quantities with BOQ and drawings.
- Identify extra items, deviation and excess quantities.
- Maintain proper records for extra work and client approvals.
- Support the commercial team with site measurements and technical details.
- 10. Coordination & Team ManagementCoordinate with Project Manager, Site Engineers, Supervisors, Safety Team, Store, Purchase and Accounts.
- Coordinate with Client, PMC and Consultants regarding site execution.
- Guide junior engineers and supervisors.
- Maintain discipline and proper work coordination at site.
- Required Skills Strong knowledge of Factory & Industrial Building Construction.
- Excellent knowledge of RCC and Civil Construction.
- Good understanding of BBS and reinforcement detailing.
- Robust quantity calculation and estimation skills.
- Ability to read and understand Civil & Structural Drawings.
- Strong labour and manpower management.
- Good knowledge of Bar Chart / Project Schedule and Target Planning.
- Ability to complete work within deadline and project targets.
- Knowledge of BOQ, measurement and billing.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and AutoCAD.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to independently handle site activities and take quick decisions.
