Job Summary
Design and develop high-quality molds for compression rubber molding, rubber injection molding, and plastic injection molding from concept to production. Ensure molds meet quality, cost, manufacturability, cycle time, and tooling life targets.need person who can do CAD & CAM both in tool making
Key Responsibilities
Design compression, transfer, rubber injection, and plastic injection molds using CAD software.
Prepare 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
Design mold systems including gating, runners, venting, cooling/heating, ejection, sliders, lifters, and inserts.
Conduct DFM, tolerance stack-up, shrinkage analysis, and mold feasibility reviews.
Coordinate with CNC, EDM, Wire EDM, heat treatment, and mold assembly teams.
Support T0T3 mold trials, troubleshoot molding issues, and implement design improvements.
Manage ECO/ECN, design revisions,
and documentation.
Standardize mold designs and maintain engineering standards.
Required Skills
Solid hands-on experience with CAD and CAM software, preferably including:
CAD: Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD,Cimetrone,Autodesk
Knowledge of rubber molding (Compression, Transfer, Injection) and plastic injection molding.
Understanding of gate design, runner balancing, venting, cooling, shrinkage, and mold maintenance.
Familiarity with Moldflow/Moldex3D is an advantage.
Knowledge of GD&T;, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and IATF 16949.
Material Knowledge
Rubber: Silicone, EPDM, NBR, HNBR, FKM, VMQ, LSR.
Plastic: PP, ABS, PC, PA66, PBT, POM, TPU, TPE.
