This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for the full lifecycle of embedded software development — from requirements gathering and architecture through to firmware coding, integration testing, and post-deployment technical support. You will work closely with the hardware and mechanical engineering teams to develop reliable, real-time software for Veego's range of analytical instruments. The role suits both mid-level engineers looking to deepen their expertise and senior engineers seeking ownership of product-level embedded software. Instrument UI Development: Design and develop graphical user interfaces for Veego’s instruments using Qt Creator, QML, or Android Studio. Build operator workflows, parameter input screens, test progress displays, and results review views that are intuitive and suitable for use in laboratory environments. Application Logic & Instrument Workflow: Implement the application-layer logic that drives instrument operation — including test sequencing, method management, user access control, and real-time data display.
Integrate application software with firmware via defined communication interfaces (RS-232, I2C, SPI, or equivalent). Database Design & Local Data Management: Design and implement local databases (SQLite or equivalent) for storing test results, audit trails, user records, and method libraries. Ensure data integrity and structure data for easy export and reporting. Connectivity & Networking: Develop and maintain network communication features including LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity, remote data transfer, and integration with LIMS or other laboratory systems via standard protocols (TCP/IP, REST APIs, or equivalent). Ensure secure and reliable data transmission. Reporting & Export Features: Build printable and exportable report generation features (PDF, CSV, or equivalent).
