We are seeking a skilled BIW (Body-in-White) Design Engineer with experience in automotive body structure design and development. The candidate will be responsible for designing BIW components, assemblies, and sheet metal parts while ensuring compliance with OEM standards, manufacturing feasibility, and vehicle performance requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and develop BIW components and assemblies including underbody, upper body, closures, reinforcements, and structural systems.
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
- Perform concept design, packaging studies, and feasibility analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GD&T; standards, DFM, DFA, and automotive regulations.
- Develop sheet metal components considering manufacturability, tooling,
and assembly requirements.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and interface management.
- Coordinate with CAE, Manufacturing, Tooling, and Process Engineering teams.
- Support prototype build activities and design validation.
- Prepare engineering documentation, BOMs, and change management records.
