Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Thermal Design & Proposal Engineer with hands-on experience in designing and preparing proposals for air-cooled heat exchangers in the oil & gas sector. The candidate will be responsible for thermal design, preliminary mechanical design, equipment selection, and preparation of techno-commercial offers, while providing technical support to clients and EPC consultants.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review and analyze detailed engineering specifications received from clients.
2. Perform thermal design of heat exchangers using HTRI software.
3. Carry out preliminary mechanical design of pressure parts in compliance with ASME Sec-VIII Div-I / II.
4. Select rotary equipment, electrical equipment, and instruments as per project requirements.
5. Prepare material requisitions for bought-out items in line with client specifications.
6. Evaluate technical data sheets received from vendors and ensure compliance.
7. Estimate equipment costs and prepare detailed techno-commercial quotations.

Engage in discussions with clients to finalize design and scope of supply.
9. Provide pre- and post-order technical support to end users and EPC consultants.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
2. Strong knowledge of thermal design principles and proficiency in HTRI software.
3. Familiarity with ASME Sec-VIII Div-I / II codes for mechanical design.
4. 3-6 years of relevant experience in thermal design and proposal engineering for heat exchangers.
5. Experience in oil & gas sector projects, preferably with EPC contractors.
6. Excellent analytical, communication, and client-facing skills.
7. Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and techno-commercial proposals.
8. Proficiency in MS Office and engineering design tools.

Preferred Attributes

1. Prior experience in proposal engineering for air-cooled heat exchangers.
