Role & responsibilities:
- Works closely with clients to support their accounting and reporting needs, providing financial information for business decisions
- Manages completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all client deliverables
- Manages project scope and change control and escalates issues where necessary
- Assists in the creation or expansion of accounting policies and procedures. Utilizes various technologies to add value to the client experience
- Manages cash and oversees that client approved A/P invoices get paid. Performs overview of financial statements for inconsistencies and opportunities of increased revenue generation or cost savings
- Coordinates annual audit and/or tax return with outside CPA firm. Reviews journal entries prepared by team members
- Facilitates updates needed to the general ledger and other data requirements
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff, ensuring they understand client requirements and deadlines. Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, resolving accounting and financial reporting issues in a timely manner.
- Leads the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including cash flow statements, budget comparisons, and variance analysis ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial data is aligned with operational objectives. Develop and maintain solid client relationships by providing proactive financial insights and recommendations. Supports business development initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance service offerings and improve client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience required; with at least 3+ years of experience in real estate accounting.
