ABOUT AMGEN Amgen harnesses the best of biology and technology to fight the world s toughest diseases and make people s lives easier fuller and longer We discover develop manufacture and deliver innovative medicines to help millions of patients Amgen helped establish the biotechnology industry more than 40 years ago and remains on the cutting-edge of innovation using technology and human genetic data to push beyond what s known today ABOUT THE ROLE Role Description Let s do this Let s change the world Part of the Artificial Intelligence Data function of the Amgen Technology and Medical Organizations ATMOS the AI Data Innovation Lab the Lab is the centre for exploration and innovation focused on integrating and accelerating new technologies and methods that deliver measurable value and competitive advantage We ve built algorithms that predict bone fractures in patients who haven t even been diagnosed with osteoporosis yet We ve built software to help us select clinical trial sites so we can get medicines to patients faster We ve built AI capabilities to standardize and accelerate the authoring of regulatory documents so we can shorten the drug approval cycle And that s just a part of the beginning Join us We are seeking a Specialist Frontend Developer to join the Lab s software engineering practice You will play a key role in turning AI concepts into products working closely with product managers as well as AI engineers software engineers and architects to design build maintain analyse and develop frontend solutions Acting as a player-coach you will help establish product prototypes develop UX UI standards and partner with DevOps and Product teams to deliver a delightful user experience Roles Responsibilities Design and build responsive scalable and user-friendly web applications using React ChatKit JavaScript and or Typescript HTML Create frameworks-based products and integrate UI with backend APIs services ensuring smooth communication via APIs middleware or microservices Design and develop annotated wireframes and prototypes using Figma and Lucid maintaining a user-centered intuitive design approach Design and develop scalable UI solutions using design patterns to enforce consistency reduce technical debt and enable seamless integration across multiple applications adhering to best practices for coding testing and design Collaborate closely with backend developers QA engineers architects and business SMEs to deliver scalable solutions Contribute to enterprise-ready UI components using AWS cloud platforms to build efficient applications Collaborate in sprint planning actively contribute to SAFe Agile practices and continuously enhance skills including backend engineering to drive team success Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment Must-Have Skills Extensive hands-on frontend development experience with ReactJS Deep expertise in designing and developing component-based architecture and reusable UI patterns Experience developing React-based solutions with third-party UI components integrations such as CKEditor and any other rich text editors Proficiency with HTML5 CSS3 and modern styling frameworks Sass Styled Components Experience in API integration REST with any backends Ability to translate wireframes mockups into UIs Experience in one of Micro front ends MVC Model View Controller MVVP Model View ViewModel design patterns Good-to-Have Skills Experience in biopharma industry Familiarity with W3C web standards Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG that help build accessibility compatible modules Experience with Python is a plus Experience using AI coding assistants to meaningfully accelerate the development work Knowledge in implementation of internationalization memory state management in front end and module bundlers like Webpack Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scaled Agile Framework Protected for project delivery Education and Professional Certifications Master s degree with 6-11 years of experience in Computer Science IT or related field OR Bachelor s degree with 8-13 years of experience in Computer Science IT or related field Certifications on GenAI ML platforms AWS AI Azure AI Engineer Google Cloud ML etc are a plus Soft Skills Team-oriented with a focus on achieving team goals Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively with global virtual teams High degree of initiative and self-motivation Strong time management skills Ability to learn quickly be organized and detail oriented Strong presentation and public speaking skills
