Department TGT1 Job posted on Dec 02 2025 Employee Type Permanent Namaste The DAV Group - Chennai functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students The Group today caters to over 40 000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1 200 teachers Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country In addition to K-12 schooling DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts Science at Kelambakkam Chennai In this context we would be interested in recruiting suitable candidates for the position of TGT1 Social Science teacherfor Classes 6 7 and 8 to teach subjects such as History Geography Civics Economics The teacher will help students understand social historical and civic concepts build awareness of society and environment and encourage critical thinking and responsible citizenship Educational QualificationBachelor s degree in Social Science Humanities with a combination of at least two subjects among History Geography Economics Political Science one Qualified teaching qualification B Ed or equivalent recognized teaching certificate Knowledge on current affairs Roles ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver Social Science lessons history geography civics economics for Classes 6-8 in line with school board syllabus Prepare lesson plans teaching materials assignments projects and conduct assessments tests quizzes assignments Evaluate student performance identify learning gaps and provide remedial support or guidance to students as needed Maintain class records of attendance performance and progress Maintain a respectful inclusive and disciplined classroom environment that encourages discussion participation and critical thinking Collaborate with other teachers and school staff for curriculum planning co curricular activities and overall academic coordination Job type Full time Salary shall commensurate with experience
