Job Title: Data Migration Lead

Experience: 6 to 12 Years

About the Role:

We are hiring a Data Migration Lead to design, develop, and evolve the data foundation of cloud-native, multi-tenant, multi-region, API-first platforms.

You will own schema and query design, tenant-aware partitioning, and zero-downtime migrations from legacy monoliths, working across relational and NoSQL data stores.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop production database schemas and data models across RDBMS and NoSQL
- Plan and execute large-scale data migrations using dual-write, CDC, backfill + reconciliation, and strangler-fig cutover
- Deliver zero-downtime live-client migrations with rehearsed rollback and data validation
- Drive query and schema performance — execution plans, index design, query tuning




- Design for HA/DR — replication, failover, multi-AZ, and cross-region recovery
- Enforce data residency and privacy requirements (GDPR, CCPA, DPDP)
- Apply AI tools (Claude Code and similar) across schema review, query optimization, and migration scripting

Must-Have Skills:
- PostgreSQL and MySQL (both mandatory)
- AWS, including RDS
- Hands-on Data Migration experience
- Data Modelling
- ETL tools — AWS DMS, AWS SCT, AWS Glue, or similar
- Solid SQL + exposure to at least one NoSQL system
- CDC tools such as Debezium, DMS, or Kafka

Good to Have:
- AWS Certification (Database Specialty or Solutions Architect Associate)
- Experience with Terraform/CDK for database provisioning
- Exposure to data lakehouse/warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift)
