We are seeking an experienced Lathe Machinist to join our team The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating lathe machines to produce precise high-quality parts The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of machining principles the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and experience working with a variety of materials Key Responsibilities Lathe Operation Set up and operate manual lathe machines to cut shape and finish metal plastic and other materials according to specifications Blueprint Interpretation Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and schematics to determine machining requirements and tolerances Tool Selection and Setup Select and install appropriate cutting tools fixtures and other accessories based on the job specifications Machining Perform precision turning threading boring and other machining operations to create parts with tight tolerances Inspection and Quality Control Measure and inspect finished parts using various tools including calipers micrometers and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality Machine Maintenance Maintain lathe machines by cleaning lubricating and performing routine maintenance to ensure smooth operation and prevent downtime Adjustments Make adjustments to machine settings tooling and process parameters as necessary to optimize machining processes and ensure the highest quality results Safety Follow all safety protocols ensuring safe operation of equipment and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment PPE Collaboration Work closely with other machinists engineers and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality standards Skills Qualifications Experience Proven experience as a Lathe Machinist or in a similar role in a manufacturing or machining setting Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of machining techniques including turning threading boring and other lathe operations Blueprint Reading Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings blueprints and CAD files Precision Measurement Ability to use precision measurement tools e g micrometers calipers height gauges to inspect workpieces and maintain tight tolerances Machine Setup Experience setting up manual lathes including tool selection and calibration Problem-Solving Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machine operations tooling and finished products Physical Stamina Ability to stand for extended periods lift heavy materials and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment Attention to Detail Strong focus on precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality outputs Preferred Qualifications Experience with Manual Lathe Certification in machining or related fields e g Machining Precision Manufacturing Familiarity with different types of materials and their machining requirements Knowledge of ISO or other quality control standards Working Conditions The role requires working in a production environment which may involve exposure to noise dust and fumes Personal protective equipment PPE such as safety goggles ear protection and gloves will be provided and must be worn at all times The position may require occasional overtime based on production needs Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay 19 000 00 - 20 000 00 per month Education Secondary 10th Pass Preferred Experience Lathe 3 years Preferred Language Tamil Required English Preferred Location Thirumullaivayal Chennai Tamil Nadu Preferred Work Location In person
