- Lead the design and engineering of pressure vessels, storage vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, process modules and heavy fabricated equipment.
- Prepare and approve design basis, sizing and code calculations to ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2 using PV Elite / Compress; carry out FEA (Div. 2 Part 5) for non-standard geometries, nozzle loads (WRC 107/297) and lifting / transport checks.
- Review customer specifications, P&IDs;, datasheets and process data; raise technical queries and freeze the design basis with the client and licensor.
- Release GA drawings, fabrication and detail drawings, weld joint details, nozzle orientation and bill of materials; ensure design for manufacturability and optimisation of weight, material and cost.
- Select materials and design details for CS, SS, alloy steel, duplex and clad construction in line with ASME Section II, TEMA, API and project specifications.
- Act as the technical interface with clients, PMC, TPI, AIA and statutory bodies (IBR, PED / CE) for design approval, code compliance and closure of comments.
- Drive design reviews, drawing checking and release discipline, ECN / deviation control and as-built documentation; guide and mentor design engineers and draughtsmen and plan manpower against project schedules.
