Requisition Summary:
PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our energetic team in Pune, specializing in the design development and Integration of vehicle chassis frame.
As a Mechanical Engineer at PACCAR, your expertise will be leveraged in Layout development, component packaging, installation drawing, and coordination with cross functional team to ensure frame & components are installed safely, efficiently and compliant with technical requirements. Job Function / Responsibilities:
- Vehicle frame layout development, including mounting systems, brackets, and interfaces.
- Preparation of 3D CAD design and create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T;, BOM creation.
- Routing and packaging of auxiliaries such as exhaust, cooling lines, hoses, wiring, and fuel lines.
- Perform calculations related to clearances, envelopes and mass properties.
- Work on large assemblies, including effective use of simplified representations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams locally and globally to ensure design alignment and manufacturability.
The primary function for this position includes:
- Execution on CAD – sheetmetal, advance modeling and assembly, drawing.
- NX & Teamcenter proficiency
- Understand design requirements, clearance check, drawing standards, GD&T;, and Bill of Material (BOM).
- Design of frame & its components and mountings.
- Collaborate with team members and execute the design activity.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering
Required Skills:
- 1-4 years of hands‑on experience in Mechanical engineering.
- Familiar with chassis systems and interfaces.
- Strong understanding of sheet‑metal design and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to manage and design large assemblies efficiently.
