About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant Project & Financial Operations to manage accounting and financial operations for the company's Canadian and U.S. business operations.

The ideal candidate should have robust hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting, AP/AR, bookkeeping, project accounting, contract-based billing, reconciliations, multicurrency accounting and financial reporting.

The candidate will work closely with leadership, project managers, vendors, clients and external accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Accounting
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for Canadian and U.S. business activities.
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and financial records.
- Manage AP, AR, expense coding and account reconciliations.
- Perform CAD and USD bank and credit-card reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and supporting schedules.
- Develop and maintain financial templates, schedules and reporting tools.




- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy and efficiency.

Contract-Based Invoicing, AP & AR
- Manage client invoicing based on contracts, SOWs, purchase orders and project timelines.
- Prepare and issue accurate client invoices with supporting documentation.
- Track deposits, progress payments, milestones and final reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Coordinate vendor and contractor payments according to approved schedules.
- Track billing requirements, payment deadlines and vendor commitments.
- Identify and escalate billing, documentation or payment discrepancies.

Project Accounting & Reporting
- Track client funding, project revenue, vendor costs and project-related expenses.
- Code revenue, expenses and labour by client, project and cost category.
- Maintain project budgets, payment registers and commitment schedules.
