Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher provides instruction and classroom supervision in the absence of the regular teacher. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining a structured and engaging learning setting for students.
General Responsibilities
Follow the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
Create a positive and structured classroom environment that fosters student engagement and learning.
Maintain appropriate classroom management and enforce school rules to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
Take attendance and manage student behavior effectively, addressing any issues in accordance with school policies.
Provide assistance to students in understanding assignments and offer support as needed.
Communicate with school administration regarding any concerns, incidents, or deviations from lesson plans.
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess as needed.
Leave a detailed report for the regular teacher outlining the day’s progress, student behavior, and any unfinished tasks.
Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
