The Opportunity:

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Protection & Control to support the design, engineering, and execution of complex substation projects. This role plays a key part in translating project requirements into engineered solutions by driving design development, documentation, customer alignment, and execution support through manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases.
The position requires solid technical depth in protection, control, and substation automation systems, combined with the ability to work independently on complex engineering challenges while coordinating with multiple stakeholders. The role offers exposure to high‑voltage projects up to 765 kV, customer interactions, and cross‑functional project execution across India.

How you’ll make an impact:




- Lead project engineering activities including design development, engineering documentation, and technical coordination to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare and submit General Arrangement drawings, schematic diagrams, and Bills of Materials in line with project schedules and customer requirements.
- Coordinate technical discussions with customers, address comments, and secure timely approvals for engineering documents.
- Ensure on‑time release of approved drawings and documents for Manufacturing and Supply Chain execution.
- Work closely with Project Management and Customers during FAT and SAT activities to support testing, issue resolution, and acceptance.
- Execute design and engineering activities in alignment with the Quality Management System (QMS) and internal engineering standards.
- Design and engineer Protection and Control panels for substations up to 765 kV, including conventional and numerical protection schemes.
