SCM Head

Role Purpose

The SCM Head will be responsible for leading end-to-end Supply Chain operations including strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor development, inventory management, consignment management supplier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy
Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
Lead end-to-end supply chain operations covering sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory, logistics, and supplier management.
Optimize supply chain costs while ensuring on-time availability of materials.

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development
Lead sourcing activities for 2,000+ components and manufactured parts.
Identify, evaluate, develop, and onboard current suppliers globally.
Build alternate source strategies to minimize supply risks.
Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments.
Drive localization and global sourcing initiatives.

Procurement Management
Manage procurement of production materials from approved/fixed vendors.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and service agreements.
Ensure timely purchase order execution and supplier performance monitoring.
Monitor supplier delivery commitments and quality performance.

Manufacturing Component Sourcing
Robust understanding of:




VMC
Sheet Metal
Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams for technical sourcing requirements.

Team Leadership
Lead and develop a team of approximately 25 supply chain professionals covering sourcing, procurement, planning, and vendor management.
Establish performance metrics and succession plans.
Mentor and build high-performing teams.

Cost Optimization
Drive annual cost-saving initiatives through:
Value Engineering
Alternate Material Sourcing
Supplier Consolidation
Global Procurement Strategies
Long-term Contract Negotiations

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production/Industrial preferred).
MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management preferred.

Experience
15+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, and Strategic Sourcing.
Minimum 5+ years in a leadership role managing large sourcing and procurement functions.
Experience managing sourcing of 2,000+ components.
Solid exposure to Global Supplier Networks.
Experience in Engineering, Industrial Equipment, Automation, Electronics Manufacturing, Automotive, or Capital Equipment industries preferred.
