1.) Tooling & Die Design:
Design complex progressive dies, stage tools, line dies, and prototyping fixtures for pressed metals parts from initial concepts to final production-ready drawings.
Conduct strip layout architecture & feasibility studies to optimize material utilization (scrap reduction) and process efficiency.
Select appropriate tool steels, coating technologies based on production volume and material specs.
2.) Simulation & Formability Analysis:
Identify & resolve potential manufacturing issues such as wrinkling, tearing and severe spring back during the digital design phase.
3.) Collaboration & continuous improvement:
Collaborate with product design (DFM/DFA) to review components design and suggest modification that improve manufacturability & reduce tooling costs.
Work closely with the toolroom & production teams during tool try-outs, troubleshooting issues, and implementing engineering change orders (ECOs)
Standardize tooling components & design practices to reduce lead times & improve reliability.
