Roles & Responsibilities

- Design pressure vessels, storage tanks, reactors, fermenters, mixing vessels, and process equipment in accordance with ASME Section VIII, TEMA, API, IS, PED, and other applicable standards.
- Design atmospheric and pressurized storage tanks, process reactors, fermentation tanks, distillation columns, evaporators, condensers, and customized process equipment.
- Perform complete mechanical design calculations, including shell, head, nozzle reinforcement, support structures, wind and seismic loading, lifting arrangements, and transportation considerations.
- Carry out heat transfer calculations and thermal design for process equipment and heat exchangers.
- Evaluate customer process requirements, process data sheets, P&IDs;, operating conditions, and utility availability to develop technically sound equipment designs.
- Lead the design and development of laser welded pillow plate heat transfer systems, including pillow plates, dimple jackets, clamp-on jackets, falling film chillers, immersion heat exchangers, ice banks, thermal energy storage systems, and other custom pillow plate products.
- Develop thermal and hydraulic design calculations for pillow plate applications and optimize plate geometry, channel configuration, pressure drop, and heat transfer performance.
- Prepare and review General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, manufacturing drawings, nozzle orientation drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and fabrication documentation in coordination with the drafting team.
- Guide and mentor draftsmen and junior design engineers throughout the engineering and drawing preparation process.
- Coordinate with production,



procurement, quality assurance, and project teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacturing.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers, consultants, and project teams to finalize equipment specifications and resolve engineering queries.
- Support estimation, proposal preparation, design optimization, value engineering, and current product development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, statutory requirements, and company quality procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 1015 years of relevant experience in process equipment or pressure vessel manufacturing.
- Strong experience in designing pressure vessels, reactors, storage tanks, fermentation vessels, heat exchangers, and thermal process equipment.
- Demonstrated expertise in laser welded pillow plate technology and allied products will be highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, pressure vessel codes, material selection, and fabrication practices.
- Ability to independently perform engineering calculations and develop optimized equipment designs.
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PV Elite, Compress, and engineering calculation tools is essential. Knowledge of HTRI, Aspen EDR, ANSYS, or NozzlePRO will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of stainless steel fabrication, welding processes, manufacturing methods, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
