Supporting Actions

- Business Excellence

- Achieving monthly, quarterly and annual targets for Safety Walks along with respective unit heads across the Samri cluster of bauxite mines
- Implementing SOPs related to safety compliance

- Cost

- Partnering planning and budgeting with respect to safety equipment and upgradation of infrastructure for safer working conditions across the Samri cluster of bauxite mines

- Cash

- Partnering cost projections for working capital and cash flow management for the next financial year with respect to safety related projects across the Samri cluster of bauxite mines

- Customer

- Collaborating with Mining Operations, Geology, Engineering and support departments to minimise incidents and eliminate accidents
- Sharing safety observations to influence course correction and safer workplaces

- Sustainability and Compliance

- Implementing statutory compliance within timelines with respect to the Director General of Mine Safety (DGMS) Guidelines
- Facilitating ISO 45001 audits and enforcing course correction
- Implementing IMS guidelines relating to safety
- Conducting and reviewing “ Risk Assessments”, as required, at relevant intervals and maintaining records of the same

- Developing safety mechanisms to achieve zero harm and train employees including contractual employees across bauxite mines of the Samri cluster
- Implementing a culture of safety as per standards through actively participating in safety walks and monthly celebration of lack of incident
- Supervising implementation of safety norms with focus on PPE usage, waste disposal as well as Radiological safety at OHCs
- Reviewing and monitoring implementation Safety, norms, Behaviour Based Safety Observations (BBSO) escalated by employees to eliminate unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviour through recording of incidents and Root Cause Analysis
- Visiting colony in Lohardaga including contract labour quarters to inspect safety conditions, educating the employees and their families to correct behaviour and reporting safety violations
- Supervising implementation of fire safety protocols and partnering safety officer and VTO in conducting fire safety drills

- People development and engagement

- Facilitating safety related training and awareness sessions of all categories of employees including contract employees
- Collaborating with commercial to incorporate safety related clauses in contract management orders
- Improve PPE usage through awareness sessions and inspections on the ground
