Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement

- Plan and procure materials, components, equipment, and services for manufacturing.
- Raise purchase orders and monitor supplier deliveries and performance.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and align procurement with production requirements.
- Work with Engineering and Production teams on new product introductions and engineering changes.

Import & Logistics

- Coordinate international shipments and import activities.
- Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
- Manage import documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Track shipments and resolve logistics issues affecting production.
- Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for logistics optimization.

Supplier Development & Localization

- Identify and develop qualified suppliers across India.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality, capacity, cost, and delivery performance.
- Coordinate supplier audits and qualification activities with Engineering and Quality teams.
- Build long-term supplier relationships.
- Drive supplier cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

Inventory Management

- Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess stock.
- Establish reorder points and safety stock levels.
- Coordinate with Production Planning and Warehouse teams for material availability.




- Monitor inventory accuracy and support inventory control activities.

Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and procedures.
- Maintain supplier, purchasing, and logistics documentation.
- Track and report purchasing and logistics KPIs.
- Support internal and external audits.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or logistics within a manufacturing workplace.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience managing international shipments and import logistics.
- Experience in sourcing manufactured components and developing suppliers in India.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of procurement, purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of international shipping, customs procedures, and import documentation.
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Cost analysis and cost-saving capabilities.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Finance teams.
