Job Description:

The Head – Mining is responsible for overall planning, execution, and management of all mining operations, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and productive mineral extraction. This includes strategic production planning, statutory compliance, team leadership, safety enforcement, equipment utilization, and stakeholder coordination to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage end-to-end mining operations (open cast/underground), ensuring safe and productive execution.

- Prepare and implement short-term and long-term mine plans in alignment with production targets and mine life.

- Ensure 100% compliance with DGMS, MoEF, IBM, SPCB, and all other regulatory bodies.

- Supervise drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, hauling, and ROM dispatch activities.

- Monitor and optimize HEMM utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance coordination.

- Guide the team in grade control, ore blending, and quality management for plant feed.

- Coordinate for mine survey, exploration, geotechnical studies, and environmental monitoring.

- Lead safety initiatives – conduct audits,



mock drills, and ensure zero accident culture.

- Prepare and review daily, monthly, and annual reports related to mining KPIs.

- Manage contracts with mining contractors, equipment suppliers, and manpower agencies.

- Control mining costs and contribute to annual budgeting and cost-reduction strategies.

- Represent the mining function in board meetings, audits, and external inspections.

Skills and Competencies:

- Proven leadership in mining operations (large-scale open cast / underground mines)

- Strong knowledge of mining regulations, safety norms, and environment laws

- Excellent in mine planning software (e.g., SURPAC, Minex, Datamine)

- Proficient in MIS, SAP, AutoCAD, Excel

- Strong interpersonal, team management, and decision-making skills

- Ability to manage multicultural, multi-disciplinary teams under pressure
